The KNB Scholarship, officially titled the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang Scholarship and commonly referred to as the KNB Scholarship, is a financial support program provided by the Indonesian Government for aspiring international students hailing from developing countries. This initiative facilitates the pursuit of various academic degrees, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degrees, at esteemed universities in Indonesia. Looking ahead to 2024, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with 31 KNB Scholarship host universities, is set to welcome 222 deserving applicants into the program. This cohort includes 30 Bachelor awardees, 162 Master’s awardees, and 30 Doctoral awardees, reflecting the commitment to fostering academic excellence across various levels of study.

Scholarship Coverage
- Tuition Fees: The scholarship often covers full or partial tuition fees for the chosen degree program, allowing recipients to pursue their studies without the financial burden of tuition.
- Living Allowance: KNB Scholarship recipients usually receive a IDR 1,500,000 monthly living allowance. This stipend is intended to cover accommodation, meals, transportation, and other day-to-day expenses during the course of their studies.
- Research and book allowance
- Funding for publishing science articles
- Health Insurance: The scholarship typically provides IDR 400,000 health insurance coverage for the duration of the scholarship. This ensures that students have access to medical care and assistance if needed.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for KNB scholarship 2024-25 are as follows:
- Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of a developing country.
- Age Limit:
- Undergraduate Degree: age should be under 21 years old.
- For Master’s Degree: Applicants should be under 35 years old.
- For Doctoral Degree: Applicants should be under 40 years old.
- Academic Background:
- Undergraduate: hold high school degree
- Master: hold bachelor degree
- PhD: hold master degree
- Health Condition: Applicants must be in good health.
- English Proficiency: Proficient in English. Some programs might require additional language proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia.
- Recommendation Letters: Applicants may need to provide letters of recommendation from professors or professionals who can attest to their academic and personal qualities.
- Research Proposal (for Doctoral Applicants): Doctoral applicants may be required to submit a research proposal relevant to their field of study.
